No. 15 Indiana Rowing Opens Season at Oak Ridge Cardinal Invitational

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – No. 15 Indiana rowing will face its first test of the 2025 season this weekend, March 15-16, at the Oak Ridge Cardinal Invitational on Lake Melton in Oak Ridge, Tennessee.
Indiana will compete against seven teams over three sessions, including No. 16-ranked Duke, No. 18 Notre Dame and No. 19 Alabama. The regatta will host two sessions Saturday and the third session Sunday morning.
IU is coming off a No. 15 national finish at the 2024 NCAA Rowing Championships, highlighted by the Varsity Eight's 14th-place performance. Indiana has reached the NCAA Championships in each of the last two seasons as well as eight of the last ten.
The Hoosiers earned a program-record finish at the Big Ten Championships, taking second-place at the conference regatta. Head coach Steve Peterson was honored by the conference for the second consecutive season as Big Ten Co-Coach of the Year and Daly was named the Big Ten Freshman of the Year.
Junior Emily Bowden, sophomore Nico Daly, senior Abbey Armstrong and graduate student Annabel Oertel return from IU's 2024 V8 crew.
