Hoosiers Dominate in Regular Season Finale

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana track and field closed the regular season of competition from the Billy Hayes Invitational at the Robert C. Haugh Track and Field Complex on Friday (May 9). The Hoosiers recorded numerous event wins and personal bests to close the competition.
The day started with the javelin, where Dalton Boisseau threw a personal best distance of 61.36m/201-3 to win the competition.
Hannah Alexander and Bridget Beyer continued to climb the all-time list in the women's hammer throw. Alexander's (55.99m/183-8 and Beyers (54-45m/178-7) personal bests move them to sixth and eighth, respectively, while placing fourth and fifth in the event.
Three Hoosiers took the top three spots in the men's hammer throw. Sean Mockler (68.36m/225-2; SB) led the trio in first and was followed by Nikolaos Sidirenios (62.18m/204; PR) and Tyler Reyna (60.79m/199-5; PR).
Alexander continued her strong day by winning the women's discus with a distance of 51.74m/169-9.
Makayla Hunter led the way in the women's shot put, winning with a distance of 16.68m/54-8.75. On the men's side, Seth Brosseau (16.95m/62-10.75) and Dane Sebert (16.59m/54-5.25) placed second and third, respectively.
The jumps team earned multiple high finishes, starting with Vince Davero in the men's long jump. His jump of 7.15m/23-5.5 placed third in the event.
Deepak Laungani (1.99m/6-6.25) and Taylor Schoonveld (1.72m/5-7.75; SB) each finished third in their respective high jump contests.
Kelly Moran finished the day winning the women's triple jump with a season-best distance of 12.23m/40-1.5.
The track saw several event winners across all events, including five event winner sweeps across men's and women's competition.
Emma Everhart-Deckard (10:21.34) and Tony Provenzano (8:12.64) each won their respective 3,000 races. Dylon Nalley also finished second with a new personal best time of 8:13.67.
Morgan Snow improved on her season best in the women's 400 to finish second (54.23).
After advancing to the finals, Olivia Gee (14.08) and John Colquitt (14.36) finished second in the 100 and 110-meter hurdles.
Aliyah Johnson took home first place in the women's 100-meter final with a time of 11.76.
Colquitt and Kai Snell continued the Hoosier sweeps by winning the men's and women's 400-meter hurdles. Snell also set a personal best time of 62.05.
In the 800, Maddie Russin and Andrew Mangum won their respective races. Russin finished with a season best time of 2:06.37, while Mangum set a personal best time of 1:48.21.
The men's 200 saw four Hoosiers finish in the overall top 10. Christian Woodson (21.27) saw the event win, followed by Novo Onovwerosuoke (21.36) in third, Tamer Saleh (21.45) in fifth, and Dezmone Starks (21.52) in seventh.
Kiera Davis set a personal best (23.92) to win the women's 200 meter dash. Katelyn Henselmeier (24.23) also finished third in the event.
The 3,000 steeplechases saw two Hoosier winners, as Ines Herault (10:31.62) and Garrett Hicks (8:54.67) won their respective races in personal best times.
The Hoosiers finished the day winning the men's and women's 1,500 meter run. Lily Myers ran a 4:21.12, while Martin Segurola ran a personal-best time of 3:39.54 to squeeze out the win.
