
Hoosiers Close Final Road Meet in Lexington

Lexington, Ky. – Indiana track and field closed the weekend of competition from the Jim Green Invitational at the UK Track and Field Complex on Saturday (May 3). The Hoosiers recorded high finishes to close the weekend of competition.
The day started with the jumps, as Taylor Schoonveld and Deepak Laungani each finished in the top five of the high jump. Taylor (1.70m/5-7) placed second, while Deepak (2.04m/6-8.25) finished fourth overall.
Kelly Moran had a strong showing in the triple jump, finishing third with a distance of 12.03m/39-5.75.
In the cage, Hannah Alexander (48.92m/158-5) started the day with a second place finish in the discus throw.
Dane Sebert and Hunter Smith continued the success in the discus, finishing second (49.05m/160-11) and third (49.01m/160-9), respectively.
In the shot put, Sebert (16.97m/55-8.25; 4th) and Seth Brosseau (16.26m/53-4.25; 7th) placed in the top ten, while Makayla Hunter (15.66m/51-4.5) earned the event win for the Hoosiers.
Peyton McQuinn earned a third place finish in the pole vault. His mark of 5.04m/16-6.5 also set a new personal best for the freshman.
The Hoosiers had quartets in the men's and women's 4x100 with high finishes. The women's team (Kristina Vincic, Kirea Davis, Olivia Gee, Aliyah Johnson) finished fourth, while the men's team (Novo Onovwerosuoke, Tamer Saleh, Christian Woodson, Trelee Banks) placed second in their respective race.
Katelyn Winton (16:43.05) and Tony Provenzano (14:32.52) led the Hoosiers in the 5,000, earning second and fourth in their respective runs.
Three Hoosiers saw top 10 finishes in the women's 400, as Vincic (55.07) set a personal best time to finish seventh. She was followed by Katelyn Henselmeier (55.26) and Morgan Snow (55.87), finishing ninth and tenth, respectively.
The 100-meter dash saw plenty of Hoosiers with high finishes. Saleh (10.71), Woodson (10.86), and Novo (10.87) all ran times in the top 12. In the women's race, Aliyah Johnson (11.76) placed second, followed by Lyric Steele (12.25) in sixth.
Olivia Gee ran a time of 13.75 in the women's 100-meter hurdle finals meter to place sixth overall.
Taylor Fox (2:11.77) and Lily Myers (2:12.95) each placed second and third, respectively in the 800. Joey Rastrelli also finished sixth in the run with a personal best time of 2:13.40.
On the Men's side, Andrew Mangum (1:49.65) and Matt Kim (1:51.76) ran to second and seventh in the 800.
The 4x400 relays closed the weekend of competition. Two women's quartets ran, placing second (Kristina Vincic, Morgan Snow, Veronica Hargrave, Amelia Dodds) and third (Ryann Parrish, Nola Somers Glenn, Katelyn Henselmeier, Maddie Russin). The men's group of CJ Martin, Tyler Tarter, Daquan Tate, and Dezmone Starks, placed third in the relay.
The Hoosiers will return home next weekend for the Billy Hayes Invitational on Friday (May 9) to close the regular season.
