Top-Ranked Hoosiers Open Big Ten Play, Host Michigan

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — Six games unbeaten. Five consecutive victories. Three consecutive clean sheets. The No. 1-ranked team in the country.
Though it has achieved its best start since 1997, Indiana (5-0-1, 0-0-0 B1G) can't relax now. The Hoosiers begin their Big Ten regular season title defense on Saturday (Sept. 13), hosting Michigan (3-0-2, 0-0-0 B1G) in their conference home opener on Jerry Yeagley Field at Bill Armstrong Stadium.
Kickoff is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET. Fans unable to make the trip can watch the match on the B1G+ digital platform.
The first 500 fans at Saturday night's match will receive the 2025 edition Hoosier Army scarf. Additionally, fans that show their ticket from the Indiana-Indiana State football game will receive a $5 ticket to Saturday's match.
KICKING OFF
• Indiana has won the title of Big Ten regular season co-champion each of the last two seasons, totaling 19 regular season titles all-time.
• Following back-to-back 1-0 victories versus Saint Louis and at Notre Dame last week, Indiana racked up Big Ten weekly awards. Scoring the winning goal in both matches, Collins Oduro became the third different Hoosier to earn Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week this season. Breckin Minzey was the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week, and Holden Brown repeated as Big Ten Goalkeeper of the Week, as the Hoosiers have not conceded in 358 minutes going back to the Green Bay match on Aug. 28.
• A win would extend Indiana's streak of victories in Big Ten play to six, stretching back to the 2024 season. The Hoosiers went unbeaten in their last eight conference matches last season (6-0-2).
• Indiana remains unbeaten in its last 12 home matches going back to the 2024 season, owning a 10-0-2 record in that span.
ABOUT THE WOLVERINES
• Michigan also comes into conference play unbeaten with a 3-0-2 record. The Wolverines drew with Oakland, 2-2, last week, after picking up victories versus Bowling Green (1-0), Creighton (3-1) and UC Riverside (2-0) as well as another draw with Notre Dame (1-1).
• Head coach Chaka Daley leads the Wolverines in his 14th season in Ann Arbor, sporting a 107-91-50 record. He owns a 197-202-77 career mark in 26 seasons as a head coach.
• Seven different players have combined for nine goals for Michigan this season.
SERIES HISTORY
• Indiana has dominated the all-time series with Michigan, owning a 25-5-5 record against the Wolverines.
• IU and Michigan met twice in 2024, presenting two totally different matches. Indiana put together a 5-0 road result in Big Ten Conference play. They met again in the first round of the Big Ten Tournament, where the Wolverines got their revenge with a 1-0 victory.
• Indiana last hosted U-M in the 2023 Big Ten Tournament, a seven-goal thriller. Michigan's Riley Ferch tied the match at 3-3 in the 72nd minute before Maouloune Goumballe's 86th-minute winner sent Indiana through to the final.
