Key Moments
- Penn State took the early lead after securing the first point at doubles No. 2 and No.1.
- The Nittany Lions kept this momentum through the beginning of singles play, taking down freshman Alessandra Teodosescu at court No.1 (6-3,6-4) and senior Nicole Teodosescu at court No.4 (6-1-6-1) to make it a three-point advantage.
- Despite the 0-3 deficit, four courts still remained with opportunity for a Hoosier comeback. Sophomore Nicole Sifuenetes started the rally at court No.6 when she overcame Brianna Baldi of PSU at court No.6 to add the first point on the board for the home team (3-1).
- Indiana took control of the courts after Sifuentes led the way, with freshman Ameia Sorey finding power in her final two sets, clinching a win of her own at court No. 2 (2-6, 6-1, 6-2) to make it just a one-point advantage for Penn State. Freshman Hi'ilani Williams took the first set against Maria Ciubotaru. After dropping the second, she took back the match in set three (6-3, 2-6, 6-2) and tied the contest three-all (3-3).
- The match came down to the grit of Dunac, who used her third set as a game tie-breaker to help IU take the victory in a crucial conference match up (7-5, 0-6, 6-1).
