
Indiana Begins Four-Game Homestand

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – After falling to ranked opponents last week in Big Ten play, Indiana (2-9) begins a four-game homestand with the Michigan State Spartans and the Saint Louis Billikens. Bloomington gets to see its home team for the next two weeks as IU closes their home slate against Maryland and Rutgers. The match against Rutgers will be Senior Day. The next four games including this weekend can be streamed on BTN PLUS.

Last Time: Ranked Big Ten Road trip
IU is coming off a weekend that saw them play two ranked Big Ten games on the road. The Hoosiers played tough against the No. 23 Ohio State Buckeyes, losing 1-0 and having a tying goal opportunity in the final minutes. On Sunday, the Hoosiers struck first against the No. 6 Michigan Wolverines off a Ciara Girouard goal but ended up falling 6-1.
Honoring Kay Burrus
During Friday's game against the Spartans, the Hoosiers will dedicate the game in honor of Dr. Kay Burrus, IU's first women's field hockey coach. Burrus started the program in 1962 and stayed a a part of the athletic department until 2002. In June of 2018, Burrus passed away.
The Hoosiers Share
Last year, Maddie Latino ran away with the scoring title with 10 goals in 19 games.
This season, the goals have been spread out as eight Hoosiers have tallied a goal with Giese, Woods, Girouard, and Buwalda topping the charts with two goals a piece.
