
Late Goal from Swope Gives Hoosiers 1-0 Win

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Indiana Field Hockey team (3-9, 1-4 B1G) claimed its first Big Ten win of the season when Taylor Swope scored the game-winning goal in the 65th minute to beat Michigan State, 1-0, on Friday afternoon at the IU Field Hockey Complex.
KEY MOMENTS
• Right away, the Hoosiers set the tempo by placing two shots on target within the first three minutes of the game.
• The second half began similarly when Indiana earned three corners and put on three shots but the Spartans kept it scoreless.
• After playing scoreless for 64-plus minutes, Taylor Swope drove into the circle unassisted and scored the only goal of the day, securing the Hoosiers victory.
NOTABLES
• The Hoosiers beat the Spartans for the first time since 2014.
• Taylor Swope scored her second goal of the season and fourth of her career.
