Hoosiers return to Bloomington for next four games.
Ann Arbor, Mich. – The Indiana Field Hockey team (2-9, 0-4 B1G) scored the first goal of the game but the No. 6 Michigan Wolverines came back with six unanswered tallies to win, 6-1.
KEY MOMENTS
• Indiana struck first 12 minutes into the game as Ciara Girouard took a pass from Taylor Swope off the corner and potted the goal.
• After falling behind 1-0, the Wolverines sparked a three-goal outburst in the first half with tallies in the 21st, 28th, and 32nd minutes.
• In a span of five minutes in the second half, Michigan added three more goals for the 6-1 lead.
• With less than 10 minutes remaining, the Hoosiers notched five shots, two by Sheridan Weiss and one by Kelsey Giese, Ciara Girouard, and Elle Hempt.
NOTABLES
• Ciara Girouard scored her second goal of the season and 13th of her career.
• Assisting on the Girouard goal was Taylor Swope, it was her first helper of the season and sixth of her career.
• Goalkeeper Sachi Ananias played 63 minutes and made eight saves.
• The six IU shots came from Girouard, Elle Hempt, Kelsey Giese, and Sheridan Weiss.

The Hoosiers get back home for four games beginning Friday, Oct. 5 against Michigan State at 3 p.m. and then followed by Saint Louis on Sunday, Oct. 7 at 12 p.m. Both of those games will be streamed on BTN Plus.
The following weekend, the Hoosiers will conclude their home slate when Maryland and Rutgers come to Bloomington. The Oct. 14 game against the Scarlet Knights will be Senior Day for the Hoosiers.
